Three conversations about shame, with Liv Larsson
Shame is a feeling most of us try to avoid. We hold back, over-adapt or go on the attack, against ourselves or others. Understanding shame is a path to greater freedom of choice in life.
Three conversations about shame, with Liv Larsson
How I see shame
Shame isn’t a ready-made reaction that simply strikes. Your brain creates the feeling in the moment, from what’s happening in your body, the situation you’re in and everything you’ve experienced before. That means shame isn’t something you just have to endure. With new experiences and a richer language for what you feel, your brain can learn to make different interpretations.
